I'm a conservative, Biblical-believing Christian and for me this was just not following in the teachings of the Bible. I think the general ideas presented were Biblically-based, but in terms of acting those out, the writers encouraged extremely demeaning and submissive (not in a Biblical way) behavior from women. As a woman, I totally recognize my husband as the spiritual leader of the house. But, honoring him by staying up late because he wants me to even if I don't want to, or watching baseball even if I hate it or not gaining 10 pounds because he doesn't want me to (all examples given in the book) are offensive and not helpful to me trying to love and serve my husband as he tries to love and serve me. Super disappointing.
